(Bloomington, IL) -- The Bloomington Police Department announced the recent graduation of Assistant Chief Clay Wheeler from the FBI National Academy Program in Quantico, Virginia.
Assistant Chief Wheeler, a 22-year veteran of the Bloomington Police Department and Assistant Chief of Operations, successfully completed the 10-week program, which started in April.
The 253rd Session of the National Academy consisted of 216 law enforcement officers from across 48 states, the District of Columbia, 24 international countries, three military organizations, and five federal civilian organizations.
The national Academy Program is Internationally known for its academic excellence. The program provides 10 weeks of advanced investigative, management, and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals with their agencies.
The FBI National Academy Program began in 1935 and to date has over 46,000 graduates.
