Roll Into The Red Cross To Help Patients In Need This Summer

(Bloomington, IL) -- Summer is the time of year to create lifelong memories. But while unforgettable moments are created, it's important to remember that hospital patients across the country can't take a summer holiday from needing lifesaving blood transfusions.

Throughout the month of July, eligible donors in the Bloomington-Normal area will not only have the opportunity to help save patients’ lives, but can also have some fun at the bowling alley this summer. Presenting donors at the Bloomington Blood Donation Center will receive a certificate for a free game of bowling at AMF Circle Lanes in Bloomington. Additionally, presenting donors can enter into a drawing for a chance to win the grand prize of a free bowling party at AMF Circle Lanes for up to 20 guests!

Donors of all blood types, especially O negative, A negative and B negative, are urged to schedule an appointment to donate blood to help avert a summer shortage.

As part of the Red Cross Summer of Stories blood donation campaign, all presenting donors at Red Cross blood drives between July 1 and July 15 will be automatically entered to win a $3,000 American Express gift card in honor of Independence Day.
