Illinois Budget Issues Affect U.Of I. Campus

(6-29-15) Urbana, IL -  Governor Rauner's budget cuts are already affecting the university of Illinois campus.
On Tuesday, the Illinois Smart Energy Design Assistance Center will shut down temporarily.  Several dozen workers will be without a job.

Also, a million-dollar project to improve the country's power grid is now on hold.  The governor has placed a freeze on several state grants and programs until a fiscal 2016 budget deal is agreed on.

The new fiscal year in Illinois starts on Wednesday, with a possible state government shutdown on the horizon.
